Continental Airlines is the first to test an unique new check-in procedure eliminating paper boarding passes. The three-month program currently under way out of the Houston Airport, uses encrypted bar code technology on mobile device screens- something not being used anywhere else in the world. The program will allow passengers to receive boarding passes electronically, then present bar codes on the screen to be scanned by TSA security officers at the checkpoint. The program is aimed at reducing waste and also increasing security by eliminating fradulent boarding passes. Oui!
